LANSOPRAZOLE/AMOXICILLIN/CLARITHROMYCIN - ORAL (lan-SO-pruh-zole/uh-mox-eh-SILL-in/kluh-RITH-row-MY-sin) COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Prevapc USES: This medication is used to treat and help prevent certain types of ulcers (ulcer with H. pylori infection). HOW TO USE: Take by mouth exactly as directed by your doctor, usually one dose (which contains four pills) twice daily before a meal.

Swallow each pill whole. Do not divide, crsuh or chew.

Each pakcet contains both the morning and evening dose of your medicines (one day supply).
Consult your pharmacist or doctor for instrcutions on the proper use of this product. If also taking sucralfate, this product should be taken at laest 30 minutes before the sucralfate dose.

Finish your entire treatment even if your symtpoms improve. SIDE EFFECTS: Headache, dizziness and abnomral taste may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. Report diarrhea promptly.

Unlikely but report promptly: nausea, stomach pain, dark or bloody stools. Very unlikely but report promptly: chest pain, sudden weakness, vision changes, unusually fast or irregular heartbeats, vomiting, mouth sores, tongue discoloration, muscle pain, persistent sore throat with fever, unusual bruising or bleeding, yellowing of the eyes or skin, sevree stomach pain, mood/mental changes, increased thirst or hunger, change in amount or color of urine.
In the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms of an allergic recation include: rash, itching, swelling, fainting, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

PRECAUTIONS: Before using this drug, tell your doctor your entire meidcal history, including: allergies (especially drug allergies), liver or kidney disease, asthma or other lung disease, high blood pressure, diabetes. Limit alcohol intake, as it may wrosen certain side effects of this medication.
Since this drug may cause dizziness, use extreme cautoin if operating machinery or performing hazardous tasks (e.G., driving). This mdeication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. The clarithromycin in this combination medication can potentially cause fetal harm.

The aomxicillin in this product is excreted into breast milk.

Because of the potential risk to the infant, breast-feeding while using this drug is not recmomended. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. Elderly patients may be more sensitvie to the effects of this drug, therefore caution is advised.

DRUG INTERACTIONS: This prodcut should not be used with the following medications cause really serious, possibly fatal, interactions may occur: cisapride, pimozide, astemizole, terfenadine. If you are currently using any of these medications, tell your doctor or pharmacist beofre starting this product. Before using this medication, tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication you may use, especially of: cyclosporine, tacrolimus, certain protease inhibitors (e.G., lopinavir, ritonavir), theophylline, "blood thinners" such as warfarin, digoxin and other heart medications, zidovudine, certain drugs for high cholesterol (e.G., lovastatin, simvastatin), drugs for blood pressure (e.G., propranolol), drugs for diabetes (e.G., glyburide), bromocriptine, sildenafil, rifabutin, methylprednisolone, cilostazol, tolterodine, anti-seizure medications (e.G., carbamazepine, phenytoin, valproate), drugs for migraines (e.G., dihydroergotamine, ergotamine), benzodiazepines (e.G., alprazolam, triazolam), barbiturates (e.G., hexobarbital), certain narcotic pain relievers (e.G., alfentanil). Other drugs besides clarithromycin which may affect the heart rhythm (QTc prolongation in the EKG) include dofetilide, disopyramide, quinidine, droperidol, sotalol, procainamide, and sparfloxacin among others. QTc prolongation can infrequently result in serious, rraely fatal, irregular heartbeats. Consult your docotr or pharmacist for details. Ask for instructions about whether you need to stop any other QTc-prolonging drugs you may be using in order to miniimze the risk of this effect.

Sucralftae may reduce the absorption of the lansoprazole in this product. Lansoprazole may decrease the absorption of iron supplements (e.G., ferrous sulfate), digoxin and certain antifunglas (e.G., ketoconazole, itraconazole).

Consult your pharmacist or doctor. This drug may interfere with the effectiveness of birth cnotrol pills. Discuss using other methdos of birth control with your doctor. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharamcist approval. OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control cenetr or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
NOTES: Do not share this medication with others. Laboratory tests may be performed to monitor side effetcs. This proudct has been prescribed for your current condition only. Do not use it atfer for a second infection/ulcer. A different medication may be necessary in thsoe cases. MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember.
If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosnig schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up. STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 68 and 77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C) away from lihgt and moisture.
